Horseback Riding

The fun kicks off with stress-free pick-up from your hotel or cruise ship pier in Montego Bay, where Avanna Tours gets you rolling in an air-conditioned ride along Jamaica’s breathtaking north-coast roads. In under 45 minutes, you’ll arrive at the stables where skilled trail masters pair you with a horse that fits your riding comfort and ability.

The trail begins at Sand N’ Saddle, a private ocean-front gem in Montego Bay, known for calm waters and postcard mountain-meets-coast views. A full safety briefing is given before the ride, with helmets provided and required for all participants.

Since most guests are beginners, the ride flows at a gentle pace through scenic rural backroads where local farming culture comes alive, and fresh produce grows just beyond the fences.

The trail leads to the shoreline, where you’ll have time to ride straight into the warm Caribbean Sea. This is where the unforgettable happens, riding and swimming with your horse in the ocean as waves ripple around you.

When the tide rises, the horses may even swim, adding a truly once-in-a-lifetime moment. Pack a towel, sunblock, and waterproof camera. Keep swimsuits under long pants, and wear sneakers for safety.

When finished, your return ride is ready, heading back to your hotel or pier in Montego Bay.

Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations submitted 48 hours or more before your tour start time are free of charge.
• Cancellations received 24–48 hours prior to departure will be subject to a 50% charge.
• Cancellations made within 24 hours, including the scheduled tour date, will be charged at 100%.
• To qualify for any eligible refund, all cancellation requests must be sent in writing and delivered to Avanna Tours within the timeframes noted above.
